Pension to RRB employees Updates - 4

Yesterday (4.6.2012), AIRRBEA informed about the expected Govt. order on Pension parity. The
Copy of the Govt. order is yet to be received. AIRRBEA is very much concerned about the following two areas.

1) GOI is expected to direct that the RRBs having accumulated loss will not be allowed to
extend the benefit of pension parity till the respective RRB would wipe out the entire
accumulated loss. Pension would be due to all the RRB staff irrespective of profit and loss
from the same date but immediate cash out flow from such RRBs for pension payment would not be allowed in the following RRBs.

2) Sharing of Pension Fund of the respective RRB by the employees and officers of the RRB
In the Govt. order it is also expected that employees and officers of the respective RRB will
have to share 30% of the burden of Pension Fund. Say, Aryabarta RRB would require 100 crore
for its total Net Pension Fund. In that case all the regular staff members of the RRBs who
have joined the respective RRB before 1st April, 2010 will have to pay 30 (thirty) crore to
the respective RRB as employees share of Pension Fund as per 9th Bipartite Settlement.

Urgent meeting of the Working Committee (i.e. Office Bearers and State Secretaries) of
AIRRBEA would be held at Kolkata on 8th July, 2012 to review the entire scenario.
